Pricing Options and Deliverables

The following is a price breakdown for the various curriculum options and product deliverable for the following:

Option 1. Coast Learning Systems
Option 2. WOW’s Open Source Program (utilizing the WOW objectives and recommended text books)
Option 3. Classes at WOW affiliated institutions

Please note: Membership in WOW’s Academy model is not required to adopt or license anyone of the following curriculum resources. However, membership is encouraged and provides the following benefits:

Listing on the WOW website as an “authorized educational partner” and a press release announcing our support for your program
Supports WOW’s non profit efforts to support education, government and industry professionals everywhere

WOW Academy Pricing*:

-K12 Institutions $195.00 annually (includes membership for three individuals)
-Community College $295.00 annually (includes membership for three individuals)
-University $495.00 annually (includes membership for three individuals)

Option 1. Coast Learning Systems

Online Course License

The Coast Learning Systems Web Design/XHTML, Part I, and Web Accessibility require a No-Fee License, and there is no additional per student fee required. A License must be requested each term, and student enrollment reporting is required. The workbook/textbooks for these courses have been designed and are distributed in the most cost-efficient manner. The books are for a one-time use only. A serial number for class access is required and is included in each workbook/textbook. Option 2. WOW’s Open Source Program (utilizing the WOW objectives and recommended text books)

WOW does not charge institutions for mapping their programs to WOW’s objectives and recommended books. However, as a non profit professional association WOW encourages you to join the growing number of education alliance partners as a WOW Academy
The benefits and the charge for becoming a WOW Academy (listing on the WOW site as an authorized educational partner and a press release announcing our support for your program) is:

-K12 Institutions $195.00 annually (includes membership for three individuals)
-Community College $295.00 annually (includes membership for three individuals)
-University $495.00 annually (includes membership for three individuals)

Option 3. Accredited institutions

Should one choose to pursue a degree or certificate at an accredited institution, they would register at that institution and pay associated costs. For example, Illinois Central College presently charges $70 per semester hour. For a 16 week class (3 credit hours), this would equate to $210 plus the cost of the textbook(s). This pricing is accurate as of August, 2006 but may change at any time. Interested parties are encouraged to directly contact the appropriate institution of higher learning.

Illinois Central College offers certificates in web design, web development, web server administration (among others). Students also have access to the ICC Virtual Lab (which allows access to PhotoShop, Dreamweaver, Flash and other software via your web browser).
