Web Professional Articulation Initiative
Working in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Labor, leading educational institutions, industry professionals and organizations, the World Organization of Webmasters proposes a seven-point cooperative plan to address the demand for Web professionals.
Seven-Point Plan
- Continue to work with a national team of experts from education, industry and government to discuss, review and make recommendations for a national articulation agreement among high schools, community colleges, state colleges and universities
- Survey current course offerings at thousands of educational institutions at all levels to compare and contrast current Web professional topics and programs
- Publish guidelines for use by educators, trainers and students at no charge
- Advocate articulation between high schools, community colleges, state colleges and universities nationwide
- Increase awareness of career opportunities in the Web profession
- Promote the availability of these programs to Web professionals at education events, industry trade shows, WOW’s Website and via links from Web professional educators and educational institutions everywhere
- Emphasize and publicize the importance of degree-level programs for both aspiring as well as practicing Web professionals
