TEAM SUM OF ITS PARTS WINS WOW IRON CHEF OF WEB DESIGN CHALLENGE AT TECHED PASADENA.

Folsom, CA. April, 12, 2005- Top level Web professionals from Cybird Inc.of Pasadena, CA, Foxridge Technical College, Saddleback College and Upland High School competed yesterday at the Second Annual Iron Chef of Web Design competition on the show floor at the 10 th Annual TechEd Conference Pasadena, CA.

Bill Cullifer, WOW Executive Director and event coordinator, said this event was an “ excellent demonstration on how true professionals need to balance their team’s skill sets with the ability to analyze a situation and produce a viable solution, and apply the technology and design techniques appropriately for the circumstances.” The goal of this event was to “ educate the audience and the attending press regarding the complex level of Web skills that practicing Web professionals possess.” Cullifer said.

The winners:
Sum of Its Parts edged out rival teams to claim the grand prize in the overall competition with team members Alan Berman and Roopa Mathur competing.

Cybird Inc. of Pasadena, CA walked away with first place in the category of Site Design with Stephan Douri, Bruno Rony, Marc Lallier competing.

Winning second place in the overall competition was team Cybird.Inc.of Pasadena, CA

Taking third place in the overall competition was team Foxridge Technical College of enter city name and state , with T.J. Spilman, Joseph Wetzel, Steve Froehlich competing.

The high-profile competition was hosted by the WOW in partnership with the Community College Foundation’s Tenth Annual TechEd Conference, held at the Pasadena Convention Center Pasadena, CA.

A panel of four experts selected from the Web professional community based their winning scores on the following criteria developed by WOW:

WOW’s participation at TechEd Pasadena marks a major milestone in efforts to set education and certification standards for Web professionals worldwide. WOW's Web education and certification standards were developed in conjunction with and are supported by leaders from the computer industry, including Cisco Systems and Adobe, in addition to the U.S. government. This initiative was made possible in part by a $1.4 million federal grant that WOW received in September 2000 in collaboration with Prentice Hall Publishing Company, the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) and the University of Washington to create educational resources and standards for Web professionals worldwide.
